BIOMECHANICAL TAPE®
Manage Load. Control Movement. Assist Function
What is Biomechanical Tape?®
Biomechanical Tape® is a new way to manage load, control movement and assist function. We offer a variety of taping solutions which, unlike kinesiology tape, work by modifying movement patterns, controlling loads on the body and acting like a spring to assist function. They provide greater resistance than kinesiology tapes without locking up movement like a rigid tape.
Biomechanical Taping™ is more than just the application of tape. It’s a robust rehabilitation and retraining methodology grounded in research and supported by education, developed by elite musculoskeletal physiotherapist Ryan Kendrick. We are pleased that our approaches have been adopted by clinicians across the world and athletes at the highest levels of professional sport.
In the video below, Ryan discusses the journey that led to the development of Biomechanical Tape®, in particular our flagship product, Dynamic Tape:
Correct
Biomechanical Tape® acts mechanically like a spring to strongly decelerate or assist motion to improve movement patterns. From foot drop to football, Dynamic Tape is a trusted ally for leading athletes, clinicians and patients.
Protect
This can help to reduce load on injured or overworked structures like a muscle strain, ankle sprain, tennis elbow or plantar fasciitis and can assist where weakness is present e.g. after ACL repair to address risk factors associated with pain or re-injury.
Perform
Quality of life is determined by our ability to perform our normal daily activities. For someone recovering from a stroke, that might be to grasp a cup. For others, it might be to run a marathon. Effects can be immediate, observable and measurable.
